How to find us
Although our postal address is on Station Road, access from there is for pedestrians only. Pedestrian and vehicle access is also available from Hanbury Road: please use B93 8DN as the post code for satnav purposes for these entrances.
We have limited parking space available on site. Parents dropping off or collecting children for the school day, or visiting the school for any other reason, should park on local roads, following posted parking restrictions. We encourage our families to walk to school.
Please be mindful of local residents' access needs when parking. Both Hanbury Road and Station Road are very busy during drop-off periods at the beginning and end of the day. In an attempt to alleviate congestion, we ask parents and visitors to observe a voluntary one way system on Hanbury Road, entering at the northern, Mill Lane, end of the road.
School Communication
We use various different forms of communication across school. Please follow the link below to find out more.
Home School Organiser (HS0)
Purpose: For recording your child’s daily reading, and the best way to message to your child’s teacher.

Admissions
Admissions enquiries and applications for Nursery ONLY: admissions@dorridge.solihull.sch.uk
Schoolcomms/Arbor School communicates with parents via this email and text system. Termly Newsletter, Weekly News, Year Group letters about visitors and events.
Weekly News sent to all every Friday via Arbor
Purpose: Weekly Year Group overview, plus updates on special initiatives or dates for your diary to come.
Class Dojo www.classdojo.com
Purpose: Originally for pupils during remote learning, we have continued to use this platform for communications between parents and their child's teacher. Whole school news items, such as the Termly School Newspaper, can also be found here. The platform is ONLY accessible to DPS children and their families.
Class Dojo is NOT the platform for contacting school for pupil absences, holiday requests, lost property messages and medical needs.
Class Dojo is also used by teachers in school to reward behaviour with Dojo points. It offers a ‘Class Story’ page where the class teacher may communicate special events from the school day, including photographs.
Class Dojo Messaging
Purpose: A closed class group where class teachers can send messages to parents and vice versa.
Please see the specific guidance for your child’s key stage below:
EYFS and KS1 We invite parents to use the Class Dojo messaging facility if they wish to contact their child’s teacher. Using the HSO is also recommended.
KS2 We like to encourage our older pupils to be more independent and responsible. With this in mind, we would prefer parents to use the other school communication channels (i.e. HSO, email to office, face to face at pick up).
Evidence Me (EYFS only)
Purpose: To share in your child’s learning journey rather than as a messaging tool. EYFS staff use this as an assessment tool and value the half termly parent contributions, when requested.
School Website www.dorridge.solihull.sch.uk
Purpose: to view term dates, menus for school meals, Year Group news and subject specific information and links to online learning resources. Additionally, statutory information such as key school policies, OFSTED reports and end of KS2 data.
Parent Council parentcouncil@dorridge.solihull.sch.uk
Purpose: Forum for class representatives to raise any queries the parent body may have and to support the school as we strive for improvement. Most classes have parent representatives.
Whatsapp
Purpose: Parent created groups for parents communicate or disseminate information to each other.
Please be respectful of all users. (Please note this is not a form of school communication).
